By day a scribe, by night a cat-burglar, Albert lives life on the edge. Having studied for a few years, he (publicly, at least) lives on what he earns as a travelling scribe & teacher.
In fact, his main source of income is burglary and blackmail – he breaks into rich merchant’s offices and often steals nothing except the knowledge that he uses to blackmail them.
When he does have some loot to divest, he turns to the network of contacts throughout the Provance that he made over the years.
He has noticed that he is less likely to get work as a scribe if he talks to men of the house due to his magical air; so he invents elaborate plans by which he meets the women of the house, charms them and has them recommend him to their husbands. This often leads to additional “jobs”, but these are not discussed in polite society.
He recently completed a blackmail job that he expect will keep him fed for quite a while, and now needs some time away from the cities until the situation calms down.
